First Year Engineering

About Department

First year is the landmark in the life of engineers. In First Year Engineering, students get acquainted with wide range of subjects and get hands on experience on various practical aspects. This helps the student to gain confidence and makes them ready for the task ahead. First year engineering will help the students in inculcating fundamentals and to develop their logical and analytical skills, which will help them to prosper in the successive years and further in their careers.

Department deals with various science subjects viz., Engineering Mathematics-I, II and III, Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry, and various basic engineering subjects viz., Engineering Mechanics, Systems in Mechanical Engineering, Basic Electrical Engineering, Basic Electronics Engineering, Engineering Graphics, Environmental studies, Project Based learning, and Programming & Problem solving.

FE department is well known for its excellence in academics through discipline and innovative teaching methodologies. We have zero tolerance to any indiscipline activities and strictly follow attendance policy as decided by the authorities. Students in FE will get motivated to give their best in academics and they are also encouraged to participate in various sports, cultural, social, and professional society activities which will help them for the multifaceted development.

To improve overall personality of the students and to make them industry ready before completing their engineering course, we conduct various training programs in soft skills right from first year engineering.

First Year Engineering Department has well qualified, dynamic, and experienced faculty who motivate the students to prosper in their academic and professional career.

The faculty not only provide quality education but also mentor the students to harness their inner capabilities. Faculty are encouraged and provided necessary assistance and guidance to promote research culture. Many faculty are contributing in research activities through funded projects of SPPU. The faculty arrange, contribute, and participate in various technical conferences, seminars, workshops, FDPs, STTPs at State and National level.

Department is committed to implement 3- weeks induction program for freshers as per the guidelines given by AICTE and SPPU.

Department strives hard for the overall multifaceted development of students under the leadership of Prof. Emani M. Reddy with a motivated team of 46 teaching faculty and 11 supporting staff.
